Step 5: Cleaning and Sanitizing

After drying and dehumidification, your walls, flooring, and ceiling will most likely require professional cleaning services. In addition to cleaning your property’s structure, we will clean your furniture, upholstery, clothing, and other restorable belongings damaged by the water. Most flooding and water damage also require professional odor removal and deodorization since wet materials have a very distinct odor.

Because water can increase the chances of electric shock, we begin by unplugging all electric appliances or by shutting the power off altogether. Once this is done, we begin restoration of your personal belongings, from furniture, carpet and upholstery to electronic devices and appliances, restoring them to as close to their original condition as possible. We'll also restore drapes, blinds, ceilings, floors and walls; anything that is damaged by water that can be restored!

After we've salvaged everything we can from further damage and rotting, we move on to deodorization and odor removal. Water damage can leave nasty odors lingering for days or more, especially if it's gray or black water that has been contaminated with bacteria. SERVPRO of West Littleton / Sheridan utilizes powerful, industrial-grade cleaners and deodorizers to eliminate even the toughest odors from your newly-restored home or business.

Once we've deodorized, we move on to sanitizing the entire area to ensure that all bacteria are eliminated. Then it's time to clean up and toss any waste that may have accumulated.
